The year in reveiw!

The year in review!
The good, the bad, and the endings!

This year has brought me some good times, some great memories, and some even better friends. The class has been fun and the teacher, even better!
The year has taught me some good lessons and has made me a better person today!

My favourite part of the year was.....
THE SPORT!!!
I got into the highest netball team, helped the Kapanui swim relay team come first, medalled in cross country, won the beep test, played in the Frank Van Kampen Cup event, and even got into the run jump throw team! So sport - wise, the year has been good for me!

The worst part of the year for me was.....
The friendships :(
This year I have made some really good, life-long friends. But I also worked out what some good and bad friendships are, and unfortunately I have experienced some and so have my friends. This year I tended to worry a bit about being on my own for projects and also my friends being on their own too. Some people are just like that.
Some people don't care about other people. And that is what I found out this year.

However this year has prepared me a lot for next year. Next year I will be a mediator, I will be on road patrol, and I will finally be a year eight and ready for camp. I will definitely be ready!
Next year will also bring me pressure and nerves for being a year eight knowing that it is my last year at a primary school. Also leaving the year eights, some of them are really cool as I have made friends with some of them! It will also bring me choices and decisions about college and my future!

If I were in the circus....

If I were in the circus....

If I were in the circus I would want to be the girl on the silks! Because:
  • They are so elegant
  • Very strong
  • It looks really fun
  • they play a big part in the circus
The girls on the silks are so elegant because they are all wrapped around the silks and they are in different poses and are flexible and strong!
It also looks really fun because they are quite high in the air and are almost hanging off the silks!
I think that they play a really big part in the circus because when they come on all of the lights are on them and they look really nice and their posture is really pretty and people think they are amazing - I do too!

It would also be quite hard to be a person on the silks because you would have to be very precise and have a lot of upper body strength. There would be a lot of training involved and heaps of hard work and dedication. You would also have to have the right mind set and attitude towards being the girl on the silks. You would have to be quite serious, but smiley, happy, but thinking hard, and again, very serious.

Although some of that I am not relate able to, I would still try very hard to be good at being the person on the silks!!

If I could be a sandwich I would be.......

A fairy bread sandwich!! 🌸🌸

I would want to be a fairy bread sandwich because......
Fairy bread is irresistible. They are so pretty and taste sooooo good. Plus, they are super fun to eat and smell pretty good too! They remind me of when I was a little kid, parties, and fun!'you can cut them in to different shapes, there yummy for all ages and they have many colours from all the different sprinkles that you can decorate the bread with ❄️
They are soft but crunchy at the same time! They also stick better with butter on fresh white bread. And unlike other boring, uncolourful, tasteless, messy sandwiches, fairy bread does not contain crusts or another ugly layer on top covering the delicious filling inside. πŸ˜‰

Umfortunately, fairy bread is not all that easy to eat or make. 😁 For example, in school lunches the colours run quite easily if there is bread at the top of the sandwich. Also, it is not really the healthiest choice because it lacks all the salad and good stuff and replaces it with candy - like, suggary toppings.
Fairy bread is of course crust less so it may be hard to cut the crusts off with out ruining the shape of the bread.

But, overall, fairy bread is still the sandwich I would want to be! DELICIOUS! πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ‘…πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘‘❤️

Sports science - Core dynamics!

Core dynamics...
My first results...
For our new topic/project, my first results were......
HANGING KNEE LIFT: 20 lifts
PUSH-UPS: 39
PULL-UPS: 0
BEEP TEST: 9 levels
VERTICAL JUMP: 2.41 metres
SANDING BROAD JUMP: 1.67 metres
12 MINUTE RUN: 13.5 laps
SKIPPING - I MINUTE: 145 skips
DEPTH JUMP: 2 steps
HURDLES: 1 time around
SHUTTLE RUNS: 16 runs

^Also, those are the exercises I completed in about 2 and a half weeks.^

The hardest exercise for me was... the pull-ups because I didn't manage to do one pull-up. I have strong upper body strength but without my legs, I am not so strong!

The best, favourite, and easiest for me was... the beep test and the 12 minute run because...  I love running, also in the 12 minute run, I got to run with my friends and we did really well! But out of the two, I think I loved the beep test because:
I came third overall. I came first out of the girls! And second in my class to a year eight.
So I think I did pretty well!

I think that the exercises that we are doing are severely simple. But I also think that what we are doing is good for us because we are also learning about the muscles of our bodies and none of us are giving up!

*The hardest thing about my age*

There are a few hard things about my age. Some of the things are from swimming competitions, dance classes, and school year groups. But the hardest thing about my age is...
Sometimes I don't necessarily want to act my age all the time! Like when I feel like acting younger than 11 it just looks a bit weird if I'm talking in a younger voice.
Or, when I decide to act older than 11, some people don't treat me the same because they know that I am only 11 and not like, 14 or something.

I wish that you could somehow change what age you are by pushing some sort of button or turning a dial on your body! it would make life a lot easier. For example, if I needed to enter a competition and had to state my age there would be no lying necessary. Also I would be able to choose how mature I could act and it wouldn't look weird!

Over all, there really aren't really very much hard or challenging things about my age yet but I am sure that I will soon discover that there will be some hard things when I get older.

If I had superhero powers......

What superhero powers would I want to have???
It would be so cool to have superhero powers and use them when ever I wanted! Plus, I'm quite sure what ones I would want...
  • I would definitely want to fly really, really high!
  • Run super fast
  • Be really strong
  • Read animal's and people's minds
  • And, be the best at everything!!!
Those are the really cool powers that I would want to have!
I would definitely want to fly really, really high because...
I could see everything happening around me. If me and my friends played tag, I would never get in! Also in the sky, it could be a really good hiding place (behind the clouds).
I would love to be able to run super fast because...
In cross country races I would always win, make it to regionals and nationals and win all the races there too! Also, I would get really toned legs and I would be really fit.
I want to be really strong because...
My body would get really musclely and healthy. I would be good at giving people piggy backs, and I wouldn't have to eat so many veggies and meat.
I want to read people's and animal's minds because...
If any people were thinking about me, I would know what they are thinking about. If one of my animals were hurt or sick I would how and they were unwell and I could help them accurately.

And of course, I'm sure mostly everyone would... want to be the best at everything!!!! Because...
If I were the best at everything I would totally take advantage of my special, cool power but also be really nice about it. If I were the best at everything, that would mean that I would be a bit of a genius when it comes to learning and problem solving. I would help my friends with anything because I would be capable of giving them accurate advise.

what I've learnt...this week!

What I've learnt this week...
This week I have learnt many things such as...

  • How to create this blog
  • And how to use it
  • Friendships and relationships and Life Ed.
  • How to use and cut metal
  • Facts about humanities and other topics from the inference cards
Starting with the blogs...
In the past few days, thanks to Mrs McKenzie, a blog has been set up for me to use and post things to share with you. Thankfully I have finally learnt how to use it! But the best part is customizing the backgrounds and settings to my liking.

Then with the Life Ed...
We've had a few fun sessions with Harold and Paula learning about how to have a successful relationship with your friends and with your family. Also about how to look after your body and keep it healthy. But the most important part is that we learnt how special we are and what stresses us out. The guilty people that were making the other people unbalanced apologized and were forgiven in the short amount of time!

Let's talk techno with technology...
As of course you know, every Tuesday we go down to Otaki College and learn a range of subjects and try them out for a few weeks. The subject I am in for these few weeks is... METAL WORK!!! It is so fun and my favourite subject so far! I can't wait to finish my fruit bowl that we are in the process of making!
